What Is Clomid ?

Clomid - Generic Clomiphene is for women who are unable to be pregnant. Clomid is used to stimulate ovulation (the release of an egg) when a womans ovaries can produce a follicle but hormonal stimulation is deficient. Clomid - Generic Clomiphene is also called fertility drug, an ovulatory stimulant, generally used to stimulate the egg production in women. Clomid is first treatment for infertility to stimulate regular ovulation.

Clomid medication is for use in adults only, it is not meant for use in children.

Precautions Before Taking Clomid:

During treatment of Clomid – Generic Clomiphene, patients are advised to avoid alcohol or cigarettes, as they reduce the probability of conception.

It’s not advisable to take Clomid, if you are pregnant or breast-feeding the baby, as Clomid – Generic Clomiphene may reduce milk production.

Let your Doctor know, if you have thyroid problem, endometrial carcinoma, abnormal vaginal bleeding, uterine fibroids, liver disease, ovarian cyst, ovarian enlargement, chronic illness or brain tumor.

As Clomid – Generic Clomiphene may give you blurred vision, avoid driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous actions.

What Are the Side Effects of Clomid ?

Clomid – Generic Clomiphene may produce a condition called ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). It has sometimes been observed that ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome caused fluid buildup in stomach, chest and heart area. This may happen if the treatment is stopped midway.

have been observed. But these side effects are momentary and not sever or long lasting and usually go away in a few days or a week after treatment is stopped. In rare cases, vision blurring may be permanent, if you are exposed to bright light. Use of Clomid has chances of multiple births. 

The chances of life threatening risk are unlikely, but notify your doctor immediately, if you develop any of these side effects.

What Happens If I Miss the Dose or Take Over Dose of Clomid ?

If you miss the dose, never take double dose next time. Just leave the missed one and go as per your prescription label or Doctor’s advise.

If you think that you have taken overdose by mistake, let your doctor know immediately. There may be the symptoms of side effects such as abdominal pain, pelvic pain, vomiting, blurred vision, flushing, nausea etc. Seek emergency medical attention in missed dose or over dose. 

How To Store Clomid ?

Store Clomid at room temperature. Keep in a tightly closed container away from light, moisture, and heat.
When Clomid medication expires, discard them properly. Let your pharmacist or local waste disposable companies know about this and follow the instructions.
